Sister Barbara Becker, a Sinsinawa Dominican nun, KinDoo's Computer Teacher must have had the above quote from Carol Burnett in mind when she developed a curriculum around literacy and computer skills.

 

Her computer students have authored two colorful, delightful books, integrating their skills from English class. With Sister Barbara's input, the students have composed short stories or poems from their own life experiences. After learning the computer tricks of cut, paste, insert, and delete, each student printed out their completed projects. The finished products are a testimony to the students' perseverence and Sister Barbara's determination.

 

Various software programs in literacy are being utilized  for lessons in ESL, GED, Citizenship, Nutrition, Exercise, Science and History

 

As needs and requests arise, future computer training in the programs of Word, Excel, E-mail and Social Media will be offered.
